Our Installation Process
- Site walk & free quote. We visit the property, talk through what you need, look at the proposed location, and provide a written estimate.
- Soil / perc test. Required by the county for any new system. We coordinate the test (or work with the existing report if recent enough).
- System design. Tank size, drain field length, and configuration sized to the home's bedroom count and the soil's percolation rate.
- County permitting. We pull the permit and handle the paperwork with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC).
- Excavation. Dig tank pit, drain field laterals, pipe runs.
- Tank delivery and set. Concrete or polyethylene depending on the design.
- Drain field installation. Gravel, perforated pipe, geotextile, then cover.
- Connection to house plumbing. Sewer pipe from house to tank.
- Final TDEC inspection. Must pass before backfill is complete.
- Cleanup & sod / seed. We leave the property as clean as we can — though new septic installs always leave some disturbed ground that will need a few months to recover.
System Types We Install
- Conventional gravity systems — tank flows by gravity to a drain field. Most common in McNairy County, suitable on soils with good percolation.
- Pump systems — where the drain field has to be higher than the tank, or the soil requires pressurized distribution.
- Aerobic treatment systems — for difficult soils that won't perc. More expensive up front, more maintenance, but enable building on lots that wouldn't otherwise pass.
- Drip irrigation systems — alternative for tight or rocky soils.
Timeline
From signed contract to a passing final inspection is typically 4 to 8 weeks in McNairy County. The variables are the perc test scheduling, county permit turnaround, and weather. We give you a realistic schedule up front and tell you when reality changes it.
How We Price New Installations
Installations are large, multi-day projects priced based on system size, soil conditions, site access, and material choices. We provide a detailed written estimate after the site walk and soil test results. See how our pricing works.
